If I remember correctly, he was actually a finalist for the position. He would certainly be able to relate to the players.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05687487174545518045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2676591017018865408.post-11805848407098156812017-10-26T13:08:04.755-04:002017-10-26T13:08:04.755-04:00I respect your opinion too, Jeff. It sounds like ...I respect your opinion too, Jeff. It sounds like there was friction between the front office and Girardi which is never a good thing. I just hope they make the right decision with the replacement. Not sure who that should be. As much as I like Marlins manager Don Mattingly, I wouldn't want him to come back to potentially tarnish his Yankees legacy. The best line I saw was Houston beats Boston, John Farrell is fired, Houston beats the Yankees, Girardi is dismissed, should Dave Roberts be concerned? Too funny. I want a manager that understands analytics but can also relate to the players. I am not saying that Matt Holliday should be a manager but someone like that who can connect with the players the way Holliday did would be invaluable. I'm not going to bash him, I'm just going to say it was time for him to move on. The Yankees are a new team, and they need a new voice.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05687487174545518045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2676591017018865408.post-14164311077144150002017-10-26T10:40:52.994-04:002017-10-26T10:40:52.994-04:00I wrote this post before I heard the news that Joe...I wrote this post before I heard the news that Joe Girardi is finished as the Yankees manager. I am stunned. I have no words. No clue who replaces Girardi but I think Tony Pena, Rob Thomsen and Kevin Long are all a step down from Girardi. Disappointing...Scott Fiedlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05598662581036778337noreply@blogger.com
