...Yeah, I'm with Burch when it comes to Oswalt.

I'm okay with looking to improve the pitching situation. I mean, I think it'll be okay eventually, but if there are sure ways to improve the rotation then let's check it out. Oswalt is no sure thing. First of all, he wasn't the ace he'd been in the past during his run with Philly in 2011. Secondly, that bulging disc in his back could easily put him back on the DL. And I see no reason to put that kind of player on the team, whether he's cheap or not.

If the Yankees can make a trade at some point, and there's still a hole, then great. But keep in mind that Adam Warren and DJ Mitchell could see starts this season for the Yanks too.Bryan Van Dusenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02868262676393608086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2676591017018865408.post-66859503593520283362012-05-23T17:30:09.897-04:002012-05-23T17:30:09.897-04:00Im gonna assume that your talking about Roy Oswalt...Im gonna assume that your talking about Roy Oswalt. Would Oswalt give us any more then David Phelps could? I dont think so.. if it were true he wouldnt be a free agent right now in my opinion. Plus Phelps gives us flexibility and is a hell of a lot cheaper , Im assuming.Daniel Burchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04212584396848733519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2676591017018865408.post-33719816495814843442012-05-23T14:47:16.605-04:002012-05-23T14:47:16.605-04:00With Banuelos on the DL, Betances walking too many...With Banuelos on the DL, Betances walking too many, Nova and Kuroda inconsistent, why not look seriously at former Houston and Phillie pitcher(his name escapes me for the moment)? The Phillies and Red Sox are. If it is the money, then the owners aren't serious about winning. They are more serious about $189 Million. It would be acceptable if the young guys in their minor league system were plentiful and capable, but they are not. This said, the main reason the Yankees are losing is that their offense has disappeared. The players say it is just a matter of time. Well, while time is passing, they are falling further and further behind Baltimore and Tampa Bay. Soon the Red Sox will pass them. And Toronto will continue beating the Bronx "Bombers". At that point they might as well stay on the bottom, play only their young players(including Jeter and A-Rod) so they can start getting decent draft picks like Tampa Bay has. And it won't even cost them more than %60 million (after Jeter retires and A-Rod's contract has expired).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
