Andy Pettitte Hits The DL

A little earlier I wrote about Chris Stewart avoiding a DL stint. Well, Andy Pettitte didn't. Andy was placed on the 15-Day DL with a left trapezius muscle injury. The trapezius muscle can be seen in the image below...

Nobody could figure out why Andy was taken out of the game last night, as replays nor anything else pointed to a problem. Later that night, it was said that it was nothing serious, and taken Pettitte out was just a precautionary measure. Not surprisingly, neither myself nor most other Yankee fans bought that, and here we are.

In his place, Vidal Nuno was recalled from AAA. Nuno has only thrown 8 innings in MLB, all this year, but he has yet to give up a run. His 5:3 K:BB ratio doesn't instill a ton of confidence from me, but I hope yet another youngster can pick up an injured veteran.
