Yankees minor league first basemen Greg Bird and right handed starting pitcher Shane Greene received the Kevin Lawn Awards for 2013 for the Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Year. Greene really worked his butt off for the award and pitched his Trenton Thunder team all the way to the EL Championship while Bird finished his season in Charleston with the Riverdogs.
Bird finished the season with a .288/.428/.511 triple slash with 20 home runs and 84 RBI's. Greene finished with a combined 12-10 record, finishing with an 8-4 record in Trenton, and a 3.38 ERA, improving with the Thunder with a 3.18 ERA.
