Alex Rodriguez Hits Home Run #660 All-Time

Alexander Emmanuel Rodriguez has hit his 660th home run of his career to tie Willie Mays for fourth on the all-time home run list. Steroids or not this is a milestone and a hell of an accomplishment and I will give credit and congratulations where credit and congratulations is due. Congrats A Rod, you came back when no one said you should and you put together a great first month of the season when nobody said you could. You deserve this!

Now about that $6 million check....

  1. Just hit 660 to try Willie Mays!

  2. In Boston no less. Pretty embarrassing that they did NOTHING to acknowledge the home run. I didn't expect the fans to but the MLB Network guys barely even recognized it.

    1. They follow baseball management guidelines, it is a disgrace. I could never see the older guys like Dizzy Dean, Scouter, Mel Allen etc., ever doing that. It's almost like when Maris set the new HR record.

    2. You sure your name is not Pedro Reed? Pedro Martinez is on MLB Network right now telling everyone that he thinks A Rod could have still hit 660 home runs if he played his entire career clean.

    3. I agree with him on that score! The same as when he pointed at his head when all that sh-t hit the fan...everyone said he was showing where he was going to hit Posada...No, no, he was saying use your head, why would I hit someone and put them on base at a time like it was in the game.
I have no doubt in my mind he would have hit 660 last year or before, just look at the HRs he had before going to Texas. He has always shown HR power to all fields, unlike many others that are dead pull hitters. Why is there such a big deal about his HRs and not the other guys that were users like Big Popi etc.?

Opps! I meant to write ...Kay not Key, below! That happens when I try and type more than one word per a min!

    4. I think the big deal with A Rod is the second time getting caught, the time getting caught when there was suspensions and such for their actions.

  3. If I remember right, A-Rod hits right-handers better than left-handers, Key didn't even know that!

    1. Did you see A Rod crying on the field in Fenway Park? It wasn't during an interview, it wasn't during the game, it was just him on the field letting all his emotions out. It was beautiful, couldn't have been scripted and a true showing of what Alex really is in my opinion.

    2. Yup! It will never make-up...in my mind...for being such a dumb ass and messing around with his God Given Talents. Other than that, I still think his talents alone would have carried him to this same success only sooner and again it is 660 Hrs whether the powers that be want to admit it or not!
Come on Hal, pay the man his money and show the old class of the Yankees, it looks as though "the apple did fall a bit away from the tree"

    3. I think him crying was letting everyone know he knows he screwed up and he wants to start making up for it this season if he can at all.

  4. I APOLOGIZE....to Chris Young, for hammering him all winter...and calling
for his release / trade. I was wrong. Glad you are with this squad.
Another great signing by Brian 'Top Gun' Cashman...aka Elf.

    1. I too should apologize to Mr. Young. I bashed him as much or more than anybody here. He's proved me wrong so far. I think he has earned a starting position and pushed Beltran to the bench. Here's hoping he keeps it up.

    2. I think I would probably owe him a third apology as well. He has def. shown that at least through the first month of the season that his September was not a fluke.

  5. The 'MAGNIFICENT EOVALDI' strikes again ! And no one mentioned Prado all game !
    Brian also, has struck again.

    1. I think Prado had a home run and like five RBI against Cole Hamels, though. Not hating on Eovaldi -- he's been pretty good -- but it's not like the Yankees couldn't still use Prado right now

    2. Still has less home runs than Drew, not that I'd rather have Drew. Eovaldi has been inconsistent but you know what? We've all said that he was an unfinished product and this is what you would expect from an unfinished product.

  6. HELP ON THE WAY ?.........Jose Pirela.
Sunday May 3rd.......Pirela doubles three times in today's game.
Triple-A Scranton (6-5 win over Charlotte)

    DH Jose Pirela: 4-5, 3 R, 3 2B, 1 RBI — 12-for-33 (.364) with five doubles, and a homer,
    in eight rehab games.

    1. See ya Petit. Offense immediately upgraded and the defense is a push. Just wondering why it's taking so long.
