Then go with what we have and sign him next year...IF we need some help at 3rd base.
Give the young players a chance to make themselves fit into the team...remember the Indians of a few years ago, they had a power hitter at every position (almost)...and never won a ring. Guys like Wade, Torreyes and Brett are invaluable...someone has to keep the line moving and be an RBI setting there for the big guys.

Play the kids and forget all the trades that everyone keeps talking about...this is the New York Yankees...enough said!Ken Reedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07134936968221887101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2676591017018865408.post-86693734035840947182018-01-18T19:01:18.002-05:002018-01-18T19:01:18.002-05:00I'm to a point where I think we should go with...I'm to a point where I think we should go with what we have and see what happens. If we need to reload at the trade deadline then so be it. We still have all these bullets. If we shoot them for a want, they won't be there for a need. Things can happen during the course of a season. Young players perform better then expected, players get hurt, players underperform. Maybe Ellsbury will be more valuable to a contender that lost their centerfielder in June.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05687487174545518045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2676591017018865408.post-60453745218892310432018-01-18T13:00:55.848-05:002018-01-18T13:00:55.848-05:00Not that I think that package would get Machado, b...Not that I think that package would get Machado, but you have to remember that players with just one year left on their contracts never bring back a full return. Take that along with the Yankees wanting to shed more payroll in order to make a move or two, and the desire to move Jacoby is obvious.

Are you serious in thinking the Yankees could get Manny Machado for Hicks, Cessa, and Adams? Or am I reading your post wrong? I hope I'm reading it wrong, because that package is not even close to get Machado. We got Stanton for less than anyone thought, but the Yankees were also taking on $273 million.

BTW, Hicks has little to no trade value. He had a very nice 2017, but if you think teams will ignore his previous 1289 plate appearances with an OPS+ of 77 you're in for a big disappointment. He is way more valuable to the Yankees than to another team via trade.

I'm all for just calling it a season, at least as far as positional players go, and giving Andujar and other kids 2B and 3B. Take our chances with Adams and Sheffield as starters if needed Warren could always be stretched out.I think we either roll the dice with Andujar or offer him Hicks , Cessa and Adams and 72 hour to extend Machado.
We are either all in on Andujar or not.
