This Day In New York Yankees History 7/21
On this day in 1988 the Yankees traded Jay Buhner to the Seattle Mariners for Ken Phelps in a trade that will forever be remembered by Yankees fans and Seinfeld fans alike.
On this day in 2002 Yankees star Alex Rodriguez hit both his 450th home run and his 2000th hit of his career. Alex would be the youngest player to ever reach the 450 hit plateau. Mike Piazza for the San Diego Padres also joined the 2,000 hit club on the same day.
