Lineup vs. Red Sox:
Brett Gardner CF
Ichiro Suzuki RF
Robinson Cano 2B
Kevin Youkilis 3B
Travis Hafner DH
Vernon Wells LF
Lyle Overbay 1B
Eduardo Nunez SS
Chris Stewart C
Hiroki Kuroda P
Some Notes: -- The Yankees have unconditionally released Clay Rapada. I'm still confused as to why the Yankees let Rapada go. He could have been extra insurance to the Yanks.
I know its only Game 2 but the Red Sox are whipping the shit out of us and showing us how it's done. They are playing ball the way the Yankees need to......drawing walks, stringing together Singles and getting constant, clutch 2-out RBIs.
ReplyDeleteToday - 9 hits (8 singles), 3 Walks/HBP = 6 Runs through just 3 innings
Monday - 13 hits (11 singles), 8 Walks = 8 Runs
A total of 22 hits (19 singles) and 11 Walks/HBP = 14 runs in 12 Innings
I know it was planned out ahead of time but I don't like sitting players after good games. After Cervelli's big hit in Game 1, I would not have played Stewart today. Give a guy a chance to get hot.
ReplyDeleteGIRARDI DOES IT ALL THE TIME.
