This Day In Yankees History 4/29

On this day in 1939 Lou Gehrig would single in the fourth inning, his 2,721st hit of his career, for his last base hit of his career. The final hit would come off of Washington Senators pitcher Ken Chase. Lou would hold the franchise record for hits until Derek Jeter passed him in 2009.
