Charleston Concludes July With A Eight-Game Homestand
RiverDogs end homestand with their annual Splash Day
CHARLESTON, SC – The Charleston RiverDogs return home to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park for an eight-game homestand after a long nine days away from the friendly confines of The Joe. Charleston welcomes the Greensboro Grasshoppers and the Hickory Crawdads, and the RiverDogs currently sit near the top of the Southern Division standings. Charleston faces Greensboro for the first and only time here at The Joe after concluding a three-game block with the Grasshoppers last week. The RiverDogs will close out their season series with the Crawdads, after just visiting the ‘Dads last week in Hickory.
Thursday, July 25, 7:05 pm: Budweiser Thirsty Thursday
Enjoy the best Happy Hour in the Lowcountry as DJ Natty Heavy spins the tunes in the Ashley View Pub with $1 drafts for the always-popular Budweiser Thirsty Thursday. It’s also Strike Out Stroke Night as the RiverDogs team up with MUSC to bring awareness to the seriousness of a stroke. Former NFL player Joe DeLamielleure will be on hand to sign autographs in conjunction with Strike Out Stroke Night.
Friday, July 26, 7:05 pm: General Dynamic Land Systems-Force Protection Red Shirt Friday / Piggly Wiggly Postgame Fireworks / Miller/Coors Aluminum Pint Nite:
It will be another Red Shirt Friday as fans that wear red to the box office can save $1 off your ticket OR donate that dollar to local charity Canines for Veterans. “Titus the Wonder Dog” will be on hand to show off his batboy skills and multiple tricks during the game. After the contest, we will light up the sky over the scenic Ashley River with another Piggly Wiggly Postgame Fireworks show. It’s also a Miller/Coors Aluminum Pint Nite as fans can enjoy $2 specials on aluminum pints.
Saturday, July 27, 6:05 pm: Christmas in July / Craft Beer Saturday:
Celebrate Christmas in July at The Joe presented by the Salvation Army. Riley Park will be turned in to a virtual winter wonderland with snow, carolers, special Christmas themed jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game and a visit from Santa Claus. As seen on “America’s Got Talent,” Those Funny Little People will make their South Carolina debut to add to the festivities. Also, enjoy craft beer specials that will be on tap including Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, Third Shift Amber Lager and more. Kids get the chance to have fun and run the bases after everySaturday home.
Sunday, July 28, 5:05 pm: Kids Club Sunday / Daddy-Daughter Princess Day:
It is another Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission and Crews Subaru Kids Club Sunday but this one will have a touch of majestic wonder as it is also Daddy-Daughter Princess Day with special ticket packages and a Princess Pavilion with great activities. Every Sunday game features FREE PARKING, members of the Kid’s Club will get FREE entry to the game and kids eat for FREE (kids 12-under will receive a coupon for a hot dog, Pepsi and chips).
Monday July 29, 6:05pm: Dogs With a Cause: Camp Happy Days / Dollar Dogs & Beers:
The double header will start at6:05PM with gates opening at 5PM. The game will consist of two seven inning games. Dogs With a Cause presented by Camp Happy Days. Head up to the Ashley View Pub for $1 dogs and $1 draft beers of always smooth Keystone Light! Monday is also Dead Head night at The Joe, featuring an appearance from Ryan Stasik of Umphrey’s McGee and the BYOG band will perform in the Ashley View Pub.
Tuesday July 30, 7:05 pm: Healthy Challenge Tuesday / Two-for-$20 Date Night:
Each Tuesday the RiverDogs team with MUSC Wellness to promote healthy lifestyle choices. Tuesdays at The Joe feature a healthy menu item and lifestyle tips throughout the game. The new 2-for-$20 Date Night includes two tickets, two slices of pizza, two sodas and one popcorn all for $20. Also, local Italian restaurant Fontana presents the "Lucky Couple of the Game" as one fortunate pair will be selected at random to win a free and romantic Italian dinner for two. The restaurant will bring in two specialty dishes and the couple will enjoy that dinner in a singular seating arrangement down the right field line while enjoying the game. It is also Shag Night, featuring a pre-game performance from the Beach Music and Shag Preservation Society and DJ Andy Todd.
Wednesday July 31, 12:05 pm: Big Splash Day / Senior Wednesday:
It’s our annual Big Splash Day, so come prepared to get wet and have fun. Wear your bathing suit as our ball park is turned into a water park. It’s also another Senior Wednesday presented by AAA Carolinas. All seniors who enter the gates will get a free hot dog, soda and bag of chips (must 65 and older). Show your AAA card at the box office to buy one ticket and get one ticket free.
