The New York Yankees are said to be close to a deal with 17 year old Korean shortstop Hyo-Jun Park wroth somewhere in the neighborhood of $1.1 million. The bonus will count against the team's international spending cap so do not expect the deal to become official until July 2 or after. This may be the first of many international signings to happen on July 2 and beyond for the Yankees in the international market.
Park is left handed and said to excel with his glove in the field. Park does not hit for much power yet, although he has plenty of time to grow, but is considered to be a line drive hitter. This can only help the Yankees farm system so I like it, I like it a lot.
