David Phelps has been placed on the 15 day disabled list with elbow inflammation, Matt Daley has been called up to take his 25 man roster place. Manager Joe Girardi has not announced who will take Phelp's spot in the rotation for the next two or three starts but it seems unlikely that it will be Michael Pineda. Esmil Rogers seems like the obvious candidate right now. Stay tuned...
Bingo, they forced the issue. OK, well you bring in Mitchell. Say adiĆ³s to Ryan and bring up Banuelos too as the first out the pen if Mitchell can't Go deep.
ReplyDeleteRight now you need to concentrate on shopping the bleeding among the starters before it's too late. Rodgers threw three innings yesterday, call up Lindgren also. Suzuki might also be in the way, think Zoilo if anything.
ReplyDeleteYanks need to find some lightning in a bottle from down below because up above it's mayhem for the starters.
ReplyDeleteJeeze... Daley?!? Career pen guy with ERA closer to 5 than 4. Throw in the white towel, would you. Roll the dice for heavens sake.
ReplyDeleteDaley is a temporary fix. The Yankees will run Daley's arm into the ground until we need to make a decision for Phelps start Friday against the Cleveland Indians.
DeleteThe opposition will run the Yankees into the ground also, while Daley is the answer.
DeleteTruth be told we just have to survive these four games with Detroit, highly unlikely we win this series with or without Phelps.
