Tanaka threw 25 pitches at 60 feet and said things went well. Said he's relieved to get through this step.

Masahiro Tanaka feels good after throwing 25 pitches while playing catch from 60 feet today. This was obviously the first step in the rehab program for Masahiro Tanaka as he tries to rehab a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. Tanaka will throw again tomorrow and will reportedly increase the number of pitches and how far he throws them and the Yankees will see how he responds to that. This is obviously great news for the Yankees and Tanaka especially, maybe the rest and rehab program will actually work.
