The New York Yankees acquired outfielder Chris Young off waivers after the New York Mets designated him for assignment and enjoyed a very productive month of September. Now the Yankees are interested in bringing Young back for the 2015 season in a fourth outfielder role and apparently the former Mets center fielder has a mutual interest in a return to the Big Apple.
According to Jon Heyman on CBSSports.com the Yankees and Young have a mutual interest in the reunion as a fourth outfielder. Young hit .282/.354/.521 with three home runs and clutch hit after clutch hit in September last year in the Bronx. Young would provide a power bat off the bench from the right side in an extremely left handed heavy Yankees outfield. Young can also steal a base and play all three outfield positions with above average defense making him a strong candidate for the Yankees.
Let's just hope that Young plays more like the Yankees version of his 2014 stop in New York than his Mets stop in New York if he returns in 2015.
