On this day in 2007 Roger Clemens announced that he would be
coming back for another season and that it would be with the New York Yankees.
Clemens agreed to a one year deal worth $28 million, which prorated down to a
little more than half that. This would be the richest deal in the history of
the game for a pitcher. Clemens made the announcement in the seventh inning at
Yankee Stadium in owner George Steinbrenner's press box.
