Tyler Austin may or may not have received a bit of a punch
to the gut this week when the team decided to call up Slade Heathcott when
Jacoby Ellsbury was added to the 15 day disabled list. I think many thought it
was a foregone conclusion that Ramon Flores, who is on the 40 man roster
already and who has been impressive in Scranton this season, would get the call
rather than calling someone up who was not already on the 40 man roster. When
it was announced that it was Heathcott called up to replace the injured
Ellsbury I think it shocked more than a few, including myself and probably
Slade too, leaving Austin to presumably wonder when his time will be in the
Bronx.

We’re going to do something a little different today because
the team is off and we have a little extra time on our hands to do so. Player A
vs. Player B comparisons. Player A is Austin, this is his weekly check in after
all, and Player B is Heathcott. Does one deserve the call up more so then the
other? You be the judge.
