The New York Yankees offense has sputtered at the beginning of the 2016 season with all hands on deck. Mark Teixeira, Alex Rodriguez, Brian McCann and Carlos Beltran are all in the middle of the Yankees lineup and yet the team seems like a shell of the team that finished second in runs scored in 2015. Now with Aaron Hicks injured for a few days as he battles a shoulder injury and while Alex Rodriguez battles an oblique injury the New York Yankees may find themselves even more shorthanded in the lineup. Well unless they call up Nick Swisher.
Keep in mind that I am well aware of the fact that Nick Swisher's best days are behind him and I also do not have any inclinations to believe that he can produce anywhere near the level he is at right now in Triple-A but I like to see the positive side of every situation. Swisher could hit .250 right now and he would be around where Hicks and Rodriguez would hit combined. Combined.
I'm not saying call up Swisher but I am saying I think the Yankees will. There is plenty of room on the 40 man roster and I can see Swisher being this season's version of Chris Capuano. Up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down.
