With the MLB Draft tonight, which can be seen on MLB
Network, I figured now would be a good time to look at the Yankees recent draft
successes and failures, especially in the first round. Now for the sake of
simplicity and time I had to go with the Yankees first overall pick in a few of
these because the Yankees surrendered their first round pick so keep that in
mind while reading. Despite me being a human I am well aware that Jacob
Lindgren was a second round pick. Thank you for reading and let me know who you
think will be selected 18th overall by the New York Yankees.

Reed likes to blame Stick for those pathetic drafts, but please tell me when his man the elf became the GM? The elf is the head puppet master in charge of baseball operations. Where is that stud arm in that group? He drafted Brackman knowing he needed TJ surgery so what genius baseball mind does that? The guy isn't even in baseball right now and is playing basketball over in Europe. The best player he drafted he couldn't even sign in Cole. Ya I know Tampa tells him to draft or something like its Sticks fault.

Only one keeper.
Records show That was "Sticks last year of involvement in the draft (2005)!
Eight by Cashman's people, I think the ring goes to Cashman and his team.
Reed let me try and simplify it for you because you just don't get it. Donald Trump is in charge of his companies, he doesn't have a consultant make his decisions for him. He gives the Donald his input and decisions are based off of that. Your man the elf is IN CHARGE OF BASEBALL OPERATIONS. THE BUCK STOPS WITH HIM. Why can't you grasp that?
DeleteOk Hans, read the Executives and Officers report!
DeleteCashman is only the Senior Vice President, General Manager!
Trost is the Chief Operating Officer...which means he has the say on all deals or non deals, but not the day to day operations, unless he wishes to.
Cashman has a mandate from Hal, "under the cap by 2018"!
Look up Brian Cashman in Wikipedia, or the article by Ken Rosenthal about what he is doing.
Earth to Reed, again you just don't get it. First and foremost the money that is approved for FA signings or anything that has to do with money is Hal. Trost is a puppet of Hal. Second you FAIL to grasp the concept that neither Levine or Trost have any say in the drafting of players. If I said it once I have said it a million times that the elf is responsible for who gets drafted. He is the boss of baseball operations. Don't you get it??? Trost doesn't have say on deal or no deal. What does a COO know about a players abilities? The answer is nothing. Trost worries about the corporate affairs on salaries of administrative assistants, the clubhouse guys etc.
DeleteHe isn't saying lets not go after Tanaka because he is going to cost us $155 million. Asking Trost or Levine to decide who to draft or who to sign is like asking you to perform brain surgery. You're all out of your minds if you believe what you read on wikipedia and by the way anyone of us can add info to wikipedia so take it for a grain of salt in most cases.
I'll say it one last time for you real slowwwwwwww. T h e e l f i s i n c h a r g e o f a l l b a s e b a l l o p e r a t i o n s. H i s h i r e d s t a f f d o e s t h e s c o u t i n g a n d d r a f t i n g o f t h e 1 s t y e a r e l i l g a b l e p l a y e r s. H e i s
r e s p o n s i b l e f o r t h a t, N o t Trost of Levine. I dont care what the job titles are and who is higher on the food chain. The money starts and stops with Hal and not Trost. Hal is the owner. The baseball operations are run by the elf. Thats it and my final say on this whether you agree with me or not
