ICYMI: Yankees Release Jaron Long, Five Others
Every week the guys and crew over at Baseball America bring us the minor league transactions from the week that used to get overlooked in years past. If it weren't for Baseball America we wouldn't know that the Yankees released six more prospects this week including one pretty big name in my opinion in Jaron Long.
All told the Yankees released Long, the son of former hitting coach Kevin Long, along with KJ Alexander (C), Jake Hernandez (C), Chris Breen (OF), Frank Frias (OF) and another bit of a shocker in outfielder Taylor Dugas.

Complete List Of Yankees Draft Picks Signed To Date
The New York Yankees have signed nine of their draft picks and three undrafted free agents and instead of searching high and far for the complete list I figured I would bring it to you right here. You're welcome.
The Yankees have signed C Colin Slaybaugh, RHP Matthew Borens, 1B Bo Thompson, RHP Joe Harvey, OF Griffin Gordon, 3B Ty McFarland, RHP Matt Wotherspoon, 2B Ryan Lindemuth, RHP Andre Del Bosque, and OF Devyn Bolasky.
The three undrafted free agents are Travis Hissong, Jake Hernandez, and Matt Marsh. They were all undrafted for a reason obviously but Hissong is the best of the bunch in my opinion and he dropped due to a hamstring injury and not because he simply wasn't good enough.

Quick Hit: Yankees Sign Two Undrafted Free Agents
The New York Yankees have announced the signings of two undrafted free agents, both players seem likely to be headed to Staten Island to start their professional careers.
USC's catcher Jake Hernandez signed with the Yankees after posting a .327/.363/.374 triple slash in 50 games in his age 22 season. It is worth mentioning that Hernandez spent just about all of his college career as a back up for the Trojans. USC is a big time school so this can't be a bad signing.
Dayton's right handed pitcher Travis Hissong also signed with the Yankees yesterday after not being drafted this weekend. Hissong is intriguing not only because of his 6' and 195 lb frame but because he was Dayton's ace pitcher before going down with a hamstring injury.
