Williams, O'Brien have nice performances in 8-5 loss to Rafters

Last night, the Scorpions finally found their offense in an 8-5 loss to the Salt River Rafters. While that score is obviously not too great, this one overall was a a good one. The Scorpions, as a whole, were very good on offense while the two Yankees prospects who played, Peter O'Brien and Mason Williams, each had very productive games.

In his 5 ABs, Williams had 3 hits and scored two runs, while O'Brien had just 1 hit in 4 ABs, driving in two runs. With this loss, the Scorps record on the year is now just 10-20 going into their season finale this afternoon.

Scorpions winning streak ends with 4-2 loss to Rafters

Yankees prospect Peter O'Brien went 1-for-4 with a double last night as the Scorpions had their three-game win streak snapped by the Salt River Rafters, 4-2. This one aired nationally on the MLB Network, so I actually was able to watch it.

But, it wasn't a very fun game to witness. The Rafters got ahead early, stayed ahead, and then won. At one point, the Scorps did get within 1 run of tieing the game, but then their rally was killed. On the bright side, Bombers prospect Fred Lewis did throw a scoreless inning of relief, but they still lost. So it was a bad night.

Scorpions win third straight game over Rafters, 7-4

Thanks to a five run second inning, and seven runs overall in just their first three frames, the Scorpions were able to beat the Salt River Rafters last night, 7-4, improving their record to 10-14. This victory is the Scorps third consecutive after they dropped 8 straight.

The only Yankee prospect who played in this one, Vidal Nuno, had a long, solid relief appearance, pitching 4 innings and giving up just 1 earned run. That 1 ER did raise Nuno's ERA to 3.20, but that's still solid. He got off to a bad start earlier in the season, and now he's pitching great.
