Thank You! from The Greedy Pinstripes

Wow, what a roller coaster ride the 2014 season was, no? While the season didn't end the way any of us wanted to it was still a successful season on the blog. We just wanted to take a quick second to thank everybody  for their continued support here on the blog, in the comments section, on Twitter, on Facebook, and wherever else everyone finds us and reads our work.

A big thank you goes out to our writers Bryan Van Dusen (co-owner), Bryan Knepper (new daddy, congrats bro!), Jack Niemuth, Neil Dwyer, patrick (always a little p) Walsh, Kent Seven, Michael Pawluk, Adam Hamburger, Thomas Culkin, John Balas, Zane Lipsitz, Nick Sentman, Judy G. (guest writer), and Erik Carlson. You guys and gal continue to bring great content to the blog and the readers and myself truly appreciate it.

All our Twitter followers that interact with us on a daily basis, you're really the reason we continue to do this for free. We don't get compensated, actually this site is a money pit at times, and we don't expect it because we love what we do. If you guys weren't reading and giving us feedback, positive or negative, we wouldn't do it.

Thank you Yankees family and let's get ready for the offseason, we never take a break here!

A Thank You & Get Well Soon Letter to Martin Prado

Martin,

First and foremost I want to say that I was sorry to hear about your appendectomy and the news that you would miss the rest of the 2014 season. These things happen and while they are unfortunate they do tend to happen for a reason. Your hamstring was not healing and you, like a true warrior and a gritty player that wants to win, continued to play on it as much as the Yankees coaching staff would let you. For that, for your heart, and for the way you left everything out on the field I want to thank you.

You exemplify the “Yankee Way” where winning comes before anything and everything. You were unselfish and you never complained when being bounced around from position to position and all over the batting order. All you did was hit, in the beginning of the game, in the middle of the game, at the end of the game, in the clutch, when the team was behind or when the team was ahead. You played the game like a fellow Yankee Derek Jeter plays the game, like it’s a game.

Get well soon Martin and get healthy for the 2015 season. We’ll see you in March.

Your fan and biggest drum beater,

Daniel Burch

A Thank You Letter & Goodbye To Alfonso Soriano

I know a lot of people, including myself, were happy when we heard the news that Alfonso Soriano was designated for assignment but that doesn't mean I've forgotten everything he has done for the New York Yankees. This is my thank you letter:

Sori

You were always my favorite Yankee when you were around, even when you were swinging at sliders off the plate for strike three. I loved it when you received your 1999 and 2000 World Series rings and I felt terrible when you didn't get the one you deserved in 2001. You captivated me when you stole 41 bases and lead the American League in 2002 while also leading the league in hits. You broke my heart when you were traded away before 2004 for Alex Rodriguez and brought me right back last season.

I rooted for you in Texas, I rooted for you in Washington, and I rooted for you in Chicago and I rooted for you in New York. Sometimes the cards don't fall the way you want but we will always have the second half of 2013 where you put up 17 home runs and 50 RBI's in only 67 games and tried to lead us back to the promised land. Thank you Sori, you were and are appreciated even if I didn't always show it.

Good luck in everything you do both on and off the field...

Daniel Burch
