Kevin Youkilis Leaves Game W/ Stiff Back
Kevin Youkilis left the Yankees game today in the 6th inning today with stiffness in his lower back. Kevin said he felt stiffness in his back yesterday and it lingered into today so he spoke up to team doctors. We are obviously hoping that this is just precautionary because we absolutely cannot afford to lose Kevin Youkilis especially against left handed pitching.

Happy 52nd Birthday Don Mattingly
Happy 52nd birthday to former Yankees captain and All Star and current Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly. Don spent parts of 14 seasons with the Yankees as a player, his entire playing career, and spent four seasons as a coach for the Yankees before leaving for Los Angeles. Happy Birthday to Donnie Baseball and many many more!
Curtis Granderson Cleared To Swing Fungo Bat
Curtis Granderson has been cleared to start swinging a fungo bat underwater a week after being cleared to throw the ball. These are all big steps in coming back from his fractured right forearm that he injured by being hit by a pitch in his first at bat of spring training. Since Curtis basically missed all of spring training he will have to go down and rehab for probably two or three weeks after he starts taking batting practice and such so he could still be a month away if the Yankees do not rush him.
New York Yankees @ Toronto Blue Jays 4/20
The Yankees and the Blue Jays continue their three game weekend series this afternoon with a quick turnaround from last nights game. The Yankees will send Hiroki Kuroda to the mound to face off with Mark Buehrle. The game will be televised at 1:05 pm ET on YES and MLB TV.

Boston Marathon Suspect Captured
In a great bit of news that I felt compelled to share authorities have captured the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings. The 19 year old boy who was involved with the bombings with his older brother was captured in Watertown, Massachusetts yesterday after a day long man hunt. This hopefully closes the book on this tragedy and people can finally begin the grieving and mourning process and eventually move past this. For anyone who cares what the scums name is it is Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Victory for Boston and victory for America!
On This Day in History | 1926

On this day 87 years ago, the Yankees pounded The Big Train, Walter Johnson, in an 18-5 drubbing at Griffith Stadium. Babe Ruth led the charge against the future Hall of Famer, going 5-for-6 with a double, homer, and 6 RBIs. The offense tallied 22 hits and 18 runs, tagging the Train for 7 runs on 8 hits. It was the most runs he would give up all season.
Urban Shocker shone for the Bombers, yielding just 3 earned runs over 8 innings before giving way to Hank Johnson to finish the job. The Senators threw everything but the kitchen sink at the Yanks, using a 20 different players throughout the game, but they could not stem the tide of the eventual American League Champions.

This Day In Yankees History 4/20
Not really Yankees history as much as it is Red Sox history but on this day in 1912 the Yankees and the Red Sox played the first game ever in historic Fenway Park.
Another bit of more Red Sox history that included the Yankees but on this day in 1939 Ted Williams had his first major league at bat against Yankees pitcher Red Ruffing. Ted Williams would strike out but I heard he did pretty well in his career all things considered.
On this day in 1988 Yankees star Claudell Washington hit the teams 10,000th home run in the teams storied history.
