REMINDER: Meet A Prospect With A Twist

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow, April 2nd, the Meet A Prospect postings that I normally do will be temporarily going into a new direction. I do not want to give away any spoilers on this so just check in tomorrow starting at noon to see just what we have up our sleeves. Hope you enjoy!

Spring Training 4/1/12

Today the Yankees traveled down to Miami and checked out the Miami Marlins new stadium, it is too bad (depending on how you look at it) that both teams forgot their pitching when they left.

The Yankees ended up winning the game by the score of 10-8 but that is the least of the story. I was aggravated for much of the beginning of the game because I thought that my highly expensive Samsung TV was going out. The colors in this new stadium are definitely eye catching and border line annoying.

CC Sabathia started the game for the Yanks and ended his day with 4 IP, 4 hits, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K's, and 1 HR given up to Gaby Sanchez, the first home run hit in the stadium. Mariano Rivera pitched an inning and for the first time in almost 4 years he gave up a run in spring training. Rafael Soriano and Cory Wade both each pitched and inning and gave up a run and three runs respectively. George Kontos pitched a scoreless inning plus and Cedeno pitched 2/3 of an inning to get the save.

The Yankees bats were obviously hot, led by a Nick Swisher home run to right field in the 6th inning. Cano had two rbi's and each of Martin, Granderson, Jeter, Rodriguez, Swisher, Cervelli, and Chavez had an rbi in the cause.

These two teams play again tomorrow at 7:05 et at the new Miami Marlins stadium again. 5 more days till opening day!

Red Sox Rotation Named

The Red Sox finalized their starting rotation behind Beckett, Lester, and Buchholz today when they named Felix Doubront as their #4 starter and converted reliever and flamethrower Daniel Bard as their #5 starter.... APRIL FOOL'S!!! No wait... Felix Doubront is really the Red Sox's 4th starter? Wow...
