Michael Weiner Passes Away

MLB Players Association executive director Michael Weiner has passed away at 55 years old after losing his fight with brain cancer. Weiner is survived by his wife, Diane, and three daughters. Former MLB player Tony Clark was Weiner's deputy executive director and will because the MLBPA's acting executive director for the time being.

This is a sad day in baseball that we all knew was coming. Weiner was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in August of 2012 and continued to work, including a full schedule in 2013, after hearing the terrible news. Rest in peace to Weiner and our condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to Weiner's family.

Yankees Sign Yamaico Navarro To Minor League Deal

The New York Yankees have signed Yamaico Navarro to a minor league deal with an invitation to Spring Training. Navarro is listed as a third basemen, a short stop, and a left fielder and is entering his age 26 season. Navarro got a quick cup of coffee with the Baltimore Orioles this season and had a minor league triple slash of .267/.354/.418 with 12 home runs and 53 RBI's. If anything he can be some more AAA depth which the Yankees showed that they did not have enough of in 2013.

Peter Gammons would approve he is also a former Boston Red Sox and not a terrorist.

Peter Gammons Compares A Rod To Marathon Bomber

Peter Gammons showed his true colors today once again when he pulled up his pant legs and showed his Red Sox when he compared Alex Rodriguez to the marathon bomber, really? Why do people hate A Rod? Why do people hate him enough to compare him to a marathon bomber? My last question is why do the people writing his paychecks allow him to post such absolute trash?

Peter Gammons, Hall of Fame Peter Gammons, MLB Network Peter Gammons, a well known and well respected until today Peter Gammons. When did it become okay to allow people to compare players to terrorists?

So because Alex Rodriguez ALLEGEDLY took steroids from Anthony Bosch and the Biogenesis clinic he is a killer, a terrorist, a murderer, and a scum lower then the lowest of low? The worst part about this is all the national media outlets are going to allow it to happen but if the shoe was on the other foot Bud Selig would be tacking on another 100 games suspension.

This is bull, Peter Gammons can rot in hell, and I am personally boycotting anything that he is associated with and anyone who runs this story and doesn't absolutely trash it. Peter Gammons, this Bud's for you.

The Alex Rodriguez Biogenesis Hearings Conclude

The appeal hearing for the Alex Rodriguez 211 game suspension handed down due to his ties with Biogenesis, among other things, concluded today. Arbitrator Frederic Horowitz will now have to stand by and wait for both sides to get together summary briefs, to be exchanged by December 11th, and responded to by December 21st. Only then will Horowitz carry on with upholding, overturning, or reducing the Yankees third basemen's suspension. This is going to go on well past the Winter Meetings and the bulk of free agency and that is not great news for the New York Yankees.

Yankees Interested In Bringing Back Curtis Granderson

The New York Yankees still have interest in resigning Curtis Granderson according to George King after he decline the Yankees qualifying offer. Granderson is 32 years old and coming off a season in which he only saw 245 plate appearances and posted a  triple slash of .229/.317/.407 with nine home runs and two freak hand injuries due to hit by pitches.

The New York Mets and the Chicago White Sox have been linked to Granderson on multi year deals already this offseason after Granderson declined a one year deal worth $14.1 qualifying offer. Brian Cashman states that Granderson is not a "fall back option" and is a definite possibility in pinstripes in 2014.

An atriptic of Robinson Cano...2nd baseman

An atriptic of Robinson Cano...2nd baseman

An atriptic painting ...a work consisting of three painted panels, hinged together. It can, be used to represent the past, present, and future. Art work can be very subjective. Here's my take.

PANEL ONE :  " No Tequila Sunrise, at Arlington Stadium, Texas. "

Prior to the trading deadline, I posted endlessly...trade Robinson Cano. The Yanks biggest chip.
Then one day, coming off a hot beach, back in July, I get in my car, only to hear that ESPN, FAN, etc. are reporting that the Texas Rangers are interested in trading for Robinson Cano. Fabulous !
Now the Yanks can do what Boston did over the winter...jump start this team !
Even better...Jurickson Profar, second baseman, and Texas's top prospect is the name being circulated. Am I in heaven ?...this can't be true. For the next 24 hours, I'm crazed, hoping the Yankees will add others to the mix, to make Texas want to pull the trigger!... Give them Slade, a catcher, Cervelli's girlfriend, Matsui's collection of porno tapes.....anyone / anything. Just get it done !
And, just as quick as firestorm started, it ended......."Today,  Brian Cashman announced that the Yankees have no interest in trading Robinson Cano."  Are they nuts ! They must be.
Just think if Jurickson was obtained, and the monies saved with  Cano's contract demands. They could of been used for someone like.....the Cuban first baseman, Jose Abreu ?...a masher. And others.

PANEL TWO : " The Sports Agent. "
The agent's name is Shawn Carter. To some, he is called JZ. He is a pusher. He will always be a pusher. Rap lyrics will never erase that fact. Shawn Carter's clients probably robbed, or killed, or wrecked lives, in order to get the money to buy what Shawn Carter was pushing. This guy is garbage.
At this most important time in Robinson Cano's career, he chose Shawn Carter to be his agent.
" JZ-Credits Drug Dealer past for preparing him as a sports agent. "
Forbes magazine. Darren Heitner. Oct. 1, 2013.
NY Daily News...Dec. 3, 1999....
"JZ charged, in stabbing Lance Rivera in the back, with a 8 ' knife. Over a dispute.
JZ pleads guilty. Given probation...Oct, 2001.

PANEL THREE : " A Few Dollars More. "
From a  Clint Eastwood trilogy...came ..." A Few Dollars More "..appropriate for Robinson.
They will always want to extract more money from the Yankees. They will demand more, and more. Even after reaching a king's ransom stratosphere. The " agent " wants it that way !
In the end, I see Robinson running off to some team, that just over pays the Yankees bid.
The agent will drive this, and Cano will just sit there, and swill his $900 bottle of champagne. Straight from the bottle, no glass for him.......he's in the crib.
No home team discount, no family discount, no Yankee monument for Robinson. Nothing.
The expiration date on Robinson's career, will now have a shortened shelf life. So it goes.
At some point during the negotiations, the agent JZ will whisper to Brian Cashman.....
"I've got some good cano for you, ....for only .......A Few Dollars More."

You Know What, I Believe Alex Rodriguez

You know what, and call me crazy but I believe Alex Rodriguez that he didn't do it. I said it on Twitter last night and I am not the only one. I am so sorry that I simply do not take Bud Selig's word for it. I give you my most sincerest and sarcastic apologies when I don't just simply take a name on a piece of paper from Anthony Bosch, who sells people freaking illegal steroids, as "good enough" to ruin a guys life, career, and legacy. As my friend and fellow writer Neil Dwyer said late last night that he was on board with #TeamARod, well I'm leading #TeamARod so jump on board.

Alex Rodriguez wants to hold a press conference and Bud Selig counters with a gag order.

Alex Rodriguez wants to call a witness that will help him and Bud Selg says no.

MLB bad mouths Alex Rodriguez, A Rod replies with an "I didn't do it."

MLB leaks all this information, A Rod refuses to go on late night TV, Oprah, etc.

MLB boasts about their PED testing but don't have a failed test on A Rod. The same testing that caught Ryan Braun, Melky Cabrera, Bartolo Colon, and a flurry of other players. Hmmm....

Bud Selig slaps a guy with a 211 game suspension pulling the "integrity of the game" clause more then any commissioner in the history of any sport and refuses to come face the guy or testify in his hearing.

If it looks fishy, smells fishy, tastes fishy, then it's fishy.

If it looks like a bitch, smells like a bitch, acts like a bitch, then he's a bitch.

This Day In New York Yankees History 11/21

On this day in 1934 the New York Yankees purchased the contract of Joe DiMaggio from San Francisco of the Pacific Coast League. The son of an Italian immigrant will be the first of three DiMaggio brothers to play in the Major Leagues.

On this day in 1989 the New York Yankees signed Pascual Perez to a three year deal worth $5.7 million in one of the worst Yankees signings in their history, see Carl Pavano for reference. The starting pitcher would spend a total of 150 weeks on the disabled list and would be suspended for the entire 1992 season after failing yet another drug test.
