Scorpions losing streak continues with 5-2 defeat in Glendale

Yankees prospect Fred Lewis pitched a scoreless inning of relief tonight as the Scorpions lost to the Desert Dogs, 5-2, dropping their overall record to 7-9. Now the Scorps did lose tonight, but definitely not because of the Yankees. Because tonight's game, Scottsdale's sixteenth of the season, was the first one that no Pinstripe hitters played in. That's not breaking news, but you know, it's kinda interesting.

Besides Lewis, Bombers reliever Brett Gerritse also appeared in this game. In his inning of work, however, he did give up a run, raising his ERA to a high, 6.14. That ERA's not great, but, as with catcher Peter O'Brien, there is still plenty of time for him to improve it.
