Yankee Stadium Legacy: #25 Allie Reynolds

Allie Reynolds came to the New York Yankees after five seasons with Cleveland. In his first season with the Yankees Allie won 19 games and topped 15 wins in each of the following five seasons in Yankees pinstripes. Allie even passed his old career high of 20 wins in 1952 with the Yankees. His .686 winning percentage in pinstripes ranked sixth best in franchise history.

  1. Cool article guys. I always enjoy reading these.

BTW, just wanted to let you know I made some posts on your forum which I just discovered. I miss our long and drawn out debates on the old daily sports pages forum so I wouldn't mind getting some of that rekindled. Post back if you're interested.

    1. I will be sure to check them out and join in the discussion. I have been meaning to get in touch with you on that other forum we all used to frequent before the DSP days. The link you sent for your forum did not work for some reason...

  2. Superchief was one of the pitchers along with Whitey, LoPat, Vic etc., that won 6 WS and 5 in a row. He, Vic and LoPat were traded for. In those days the Manager was Casey Stengel (in my opinion) the greatest manager they ever had. Casey was a teacher, talent evaluator, and knew the game and what his players could and couldn't do well. He was one of the First to use shifts in the field as a part of his game calling.
