As I said Ivan Nova started for the Yankees in his final tune up before the regular season and he did not take advantage of the start. Last only 2.2 IP and giving up five runs while allowing eight hits and struggling with his command once again. Unlike Nova, Mets starter Mike Pelfrey had a nice four innings pitched with five strike outs and his only blemish being a fourth inning Nick Swisher home run.
The Yankees offense consisted of mainly a five run sixth inning off of Mets pitcher Jonathon Neise which consisted of rbi singles by Doug Bernier, Andruw Jones, and Chris Dickerson. As alluded to earlier Nick Swisher had a solo home run in the fourth inning. The Mets Ike Davis hit a walk off solo home run in the bottom of the 9th to win the game for the Amazings.
Tomorrow these same two teams will do it again in the Spring Training finale for both teams.
