Quick Hit: Tanaka Misses Boston This Weekend

For the first time this season the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox will renew their rivalry and play a four game set this weekend at Yankee Stadium. The only pitcher that the defending World Series champions will not see this week and into the weekend is Masahiro Tanaka. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing remains to be seen but it is kind of a bummer from a fans perspective, no?

Do we not want to see our shiny new toy going against our biggest and oldest rivals on the biggest stage? Or would we rather keep him hidden for just a little longer? I don't guess it matters much because we play these guys 20 some times a season and we are bound to run Tanaka out there in more than one of the starts but it would still be kind of cool to see Tanaka earn a stripe in front of the Yankee Stadium crowd, if such a thing is possible in April.
