Why does all the good stuff happen at work when I can't talk about it? Anyway Chase Headley is back with the Yankees on a four year deal worth $52 million. Stay tuned.

  1. Not crazy about the price tag but the move had to be made

    1. I'm not crazy about the years or the money but that's the market right now unfortunately.

  2. That's too many years but, was there any other player out there as good? His injuries are the thing that bothers me more than anything else!
That is a good sign, Prado can become full time utility man and Ryfs can man 2nd!

    1. You think so Bryan? You may be right, but he is very valuable as a utility man, and as such he will get about as many at bats as he would otherwise.
I can see the reasoning behind him at 2nd, he is good. But then, who plays the swing man for most everyone?

    2. I am about 99.8% sure that a guy making $11 million will be at second base on opening day and barring injuries most of the other days over Ref who will start in AAA.

Pirela plays swing man off bench and Prado can bounce around to keep everyone fresh.

    3. Couldn't hurt any could it? I like Prado as the super utility man but, Pirela can play a few places himself. $11M player gets to play everyday!

  4. I could have sworn he had already signed elsewhere on a 4-yr $48 mill contract...I am getting old and may have "misremembered"

    1. There was a deal put to him and he went with the Yankess.
I think that's how it went! Close enough!

    2. McCarthy?

Stop having kids, you're losing your mind.

  5. McCarthy signed the 4 year 48 million contract a few days ago like Knepper mentioned. Headley supposedly turned down 4 years and $65 million.
