Yankees Rookie Dress Up Day
Every year the Yankees make their rookies dress up in very embarrassing costumes and this year is no different. From left to right we have Adam Warren, David Phelps, and Cody Eppley dressed up with Joe Girardi in Star Wars costumes. Rookie hazing is a great thing.
This Day In Yankees History 9/23/12
In the magical season of 1998 the Yankees won their 110th game of the season, tying the 1927 Yankees for the most wins in one season in franchise history.
In 2001 Mariano Rivera recorded his 47th save of the season which set a new franchise high for a single season passing Dave Righetti's 46 in 1986.
In 2008 the Yankees were eliminated from the playoffs for the first time in 13 consecutive seasons by the Boston Red Sox.

Gardner Is Coming Off The DL
Brett Gardner started a hitting program a few days ago and has been running the bases and taking fly balls in hopes of coming back this season in some sort of role. The Yankees have said that they were willing to bring him back in a defensive replacement and pinch running type of role. Joe Girardi has confirmed that this will happen sometime this season but the Yankees have not made up their mind on just when that will happen.
The Yankees will need to make a 40 man roster move to get Gardner back with the big league club so expect a DFA for Derek Lowe in my opinion. Either way Gardner is coming back and I cannot say I agree with the decision.
