This Day In Yankees History 9/23/12


In the magical season of 1998 the Yankees won their 110th game of the season, tying the 1927 Yankees for the most wins in one season in franchise history.


In 2001 Mariano Rivera recorded his 47th save of the season which set a new franchise high for a single season passing Dave Righetti's 46 in 1986.


In 2008 the Yankees were eliminated from the playoffs for the first time in 13 consecutive seasons by the Boston Red Sox.
