Jeter To Have Surgery On Fractured Ankle

News came down the wire today that Yankees SS Derek Jeter will in fact require surgery on his fractured left ankle that will keep him out for the rest of the playoffs. He will see Dr. Robert Anderson in North Carolina to confirm this officially but the ligament damage shows that it will likely be necessary. The Captain has been playing with this issue, whether directly or indirectly related, for about two months now and it finally gave out. There is no timetable set yet for return if he does get the surgery but you have to think it is longer then the original three months that we were all told.
