Derek Jeter saw team doctor Robert Anderson today in an unscheduled visit to get a CT scan of his previously fractured left ankle and did not like what he saw. Derek has a new break in the left ankle and, at this time anyway, will not require surgery for this. Derek is scheduled to be out until after the All Star break after this latest setback. It is important to understand that this is an entirely new injury and is not the old ankle injury coming back. Derek presumably did this while working out in Tampa and could be the reason for the major scale back in his rehab. This really sucks, no better way to put it.
