This Day In Yankees History 5/27


On this day in 2006 Yankees short stop Derek Jeter becomes only the 8th Yankees player in their storied history to reach 2,000 hits. The hit would come off of Jeremy Affeldt and the Kansas City Royals. The other seven players were Yogi Berra, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Don Mattingly, Babe Ruth, and Bernie Williams.
