This Day In Yankees History 5/4

On this day in 1981 Yankees reliever Ron Davis established a major league record by recording eight consecutive strike outs  by a relief pitcher. David entered the game against the California Angels in the bottom of the 7th inning and got Don Baylor to pop out and struck out the next eight batters to end the game. The Yankees would beat the Angels 4-2.

On this day in 2006 Forbes magazine came out and announced that the Yankees were the first baseball team ever to be valued at $1 billion. The Devil Rays were ranked 30th in the league and were valued at $209 million.
