The New York Yankees have announced that they have signed former Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Luis Cruz to a minor league deal. Cruz was designated for assignment last Friday by the Dodgers after appearing in 45 games including 30 starts, 20 at third base and 10 at short stop, for the Dodger big league club. Cruz is considered to be a defensive first infielder and, hopefully, AAA Scranton Railriders depth and insurance and not in the big league clubs plans.
