    1. Ken H...
Come on now, admit it...Cashman is doing the right thing! We can disagree on his way of doing it but, retooling a team, on the fly is not an everyday occurrence.
Trading people for people is very tricky, I have had to learn how to do it at work. It is tough, other teams always want the moon from the Yankees for a player they would trade to another team, for a bag of used baseballs!
      Sorry, couldn't resist it Ken!
Have fun and a good day too you! Hopefully it is better there, than it is here...western New York!

    2. Yankees could trade two guys they just DFA'd for Mike Trout and I truly think you would have an issue with it.

    3. Doesn't matter what you guys say. Mr Hans bashed Cashman for extending Gardner in February. Said it was a horrible contract for a "punch and judy" hitter. Especially for a position that requires "power". (7 left fielder's had more homeruns last year according to cbssports.com) Eovaldi can win 20 games next year and would still be a trade that was lost by Cashman somehow. Just like I'm sure he lost the Pineda/Montero trade.

    4. Not at all but that might happen when pigs fly

    5. Actually Cashman won that trade even if the guy cakes pine tar all over his body for the TV to see

      Delete
    6. Jeff, Eovaldi hasn't won 20 games yet in his MLB career so I think its pretty safe to say that's not happening anytime soon. If this guy is the real deal why has he been traded three times already in his early part of his career? Where there is smoke there is fire

      Delete
    7. Eovaldi may be a complete bust. I'm not saying he won't be. And I never accused Pineda of being an intelligent individual. I'm just not going to blame Cashman for everything that's wrong with the Yankees. You're 100% right that Cashman has made some absolute bone head moves. Anybody that's been a GM for the same team for 15 years is bound to. He's also made some very good moves that have sustained a level of success that baseball rarely sees. Missing the playoffs 3 times in 20 years is a pretty good track record.

    8. With a blank check 18 of those 20 years and able to buy out of his mistakes

    9. You know Ken, I typed out a very long response to your repetitive "Blame Cashman" comment. It had trades, signings, statistics, and logical opinions on why things have happened the way they have. But then I deleted it because I knew I would just get the same response that I always get. Blame Cashman.

    10. Okay Ken I apologize. Cashman is the dumbest son of a bitch in the game. He just brought back Drew for $5 million frickin dollars. Damn't that pisses me off! Of all the worthless pieces of shit we had last year, he brings this jack off .160 hitter back.

    11. Jeff, don't let it get to you, before you, it was me.
You are a breath of fresh air around here, I/we enjoy what you comment on and about. We agree to disagree but don't argue a point that has been shown to be right or wrong.
Have fun and enjoy the up-coming season with us here!

    12. So Jeff tell me who is to blame for the farm system the poor trades being over budget? Who Jeff?????

      Delete
    13. Well I did apologize to you and said you were right about Cashman. I'm over his moronic signing of Drew now. So in response to your question, what is it you're asking for? Do you want my opinions? Or would you like me to back all my statements up with statistics? If I take the time to look up and present the statistics, will you agree? Because I'm still waiting for you to admit that Gardner was actually a good signing.

      Delete
    14. This is def shaping up to be Cashman's team and not Hal's team... and it has Drew.... no more excuses for Cashman.

    15. I don't know how old you are and the only reason why I am bringing this up is because I watched when the Yankees suck in the mid to late sixties and the 70's mid stream so I have seen guys like Celerino Sanchez, Jerry Kenney, Horace Clark to name a few. Forgive me if I believe the Yankees won their championships under the guidance of Stick Michael and Bob Watson.

The farm system was strong under Michael and its weak under Cashman, so who should I blame? He has had an open check book and been able to buy his way out of mistakes in the past. Now he can't because we aren't the only team flush with cash. You have seen that the last two years with the bottom feeder trades he has made. Gardner is a decent player overall. Good signing I don't see it for a punch and judy hitter that isn't a good bunter, even though there are those on here who think he is. A terrible baserunner an excellent defender with a weak arm. Tell me my assessment is wrong on Gardner's tools? He did start to hit a little with power last year but the guy is a 260 hitter so please tell me why I should justify that is a good signing? You were one guy on here that I could have a decent discussion without the tude but apparently that has changed

    16. Ken Reed I am sorry that I am entitled to my opinion and you don't like it or agree with it. You made a reply to Jeff like I am attacking him and that is the furthest thing from the truth. Am I suppose to agree with you guys if I think its wrong? Are you suppose to agree with me if you think its wrong? If Anything you all have attacked me and you don't see me telling anyone else it was me before you garbage. Seriously guys I thought this site was a site you can state your opinion without this crap. Apparently I was mistaken

    17. Ken - I'm in no way offended by any comment you make. I wear big boy panties and I certainly make my fair share of provoking comments. I've actually been called a racist here. (Still trying to figure that one out) The point is this, you and I have agreed on some things, and disagreed on some things. If we always agreed, how much fun would it be? I wouldn't have to visit the website because I would already know you all had to say.

      Delete
    18. Apparently Mr. Reed felt I was picking on you, I don't know why and I am glad you don't always agree with me. It just seems that there are people on here that dish it out and can't take it. Whoever called you a racist would be ignorent in my eyes.

      Delete
    19. Someone called you racist Jeff? I must have missed that, sounds like something Tommy White boy would do though.

I love the banter and the back and forth here, I truly do. As long as we can be respectful and all wear our big boy panties it's really a fun environment to be in. No one likes a circle jerk where we all agree all day long.

    20. Ken Hans...
If I said anything wrong about you, I apologize. And I just meant for the two or three of us to realize...everyone is entitled to their opinion around here, without it getting out of hand.
Patrick and I have been down that road before, it is not a good situation for anyone!
If you or I, or anyone else disagree that's part of the fun, we have here. No need to blame everything on one person in the Yankee organization. Many of the things that happen, when it comes to acquisitions is done buy others and not endorsed by Cashman...we all know that. Some of the bad ones were his call, we also know.
Stick had full control of the Yankees while King George was band for 7 years, and did a great job.

By the way I have lived through the Yankees up and downs from 1943 and have seen or herd 17 or 18 of the 27 WS games.

  2. I think Cashman pulled Hans name one time out of a secret santa hat and got him socks and he hasn't been able to forgive him since.

  3. He gave me coal and all the Yankee fans as well. After the season is over I'm telling you all right now I will be the one who tells all of you I told you so. We gave up way too much for what we got back. Eovaldi is the next Jeff Weaver. Has all the tools and craps the bed. Guy's common sense says that a guy who touches 98 and is suppose to be the real deal doesn't get traded three times and still is only 25 or so.

You all give Larry R to much credit and if Larry was so good why hasn't he been able to help CC become a pitcher now with an 89 MPH fastball? I'm not talking about CC being hurt last year. He had the same crappy stuff the year before. Remember sports fans Andy P hit 89/90 and still won, yet Larry hasn't been able to get CC to that point in his career.

    1. There is a simple reason why he couldn't help C.C...A player needs to want to change and work hard at it. He has had one full year to change everything his arm and mind tells him is the right way to pitch. Muscle and mind has been trained over 20+ years to pitch with a fast ball. Now he has to change everything, not the essayist thing to do.
Andy, never had a 95 mph fast ball, so as time went on and his 92 started losing speed he was able to add a pitch and adapt little by little...big difference. Andy was around 87-88 sometimes 89 at the end.

      Delete
    2. I don't think Jeff Weaver ever had 98 MPH and I don't think he had a veteran pitching coach either. I could be wrong because I don't remember.

The difference between CC and Andy was CC still thinks he can reach back and blow people away with two strikes. Andy knew he couldn't and simply bit on the corners and pitched to contact.

Pitching to contact is hard for some pitchers, CC seems like he is almost scared to pitch to contact.

  4. Guy's say what you want, you all sound like the clowns a few years back that said in Reese we trust and tell me how has that worked out the last 5 out of 6? He's a decent pitching coach he isn't Jesus or Danica Patrick for that matter that he can walk on water.

I respect your view, I may think some of your comments are wrong, but that's ok. My comments are nothing more than an old man with more time on his hands than he is use to. With being old, comes the experience thing. I had to make myself into a good baseball player, which I was. Proof, none forth coming!
I got side tracked into a profession I was very, very good at.
I have always had a talent, evaluate and adapt, then execute the proper advantage. It has served me very well over the years
I only say this because, I am very much old school in my baseball thinking. So don't pay me any mind.

    2. Who in the hell is Reese? Excuse my ignorance.

    5. Sorry Mr. Hans..I had a full ride to a college in the mid-west for Football, hurt my shoulder and then turned to baseball, at the same college!
When it comes to sports, I played Baseball, Basketball, Football and ran track in High school. A few college scouts saw me play and the rest is history.
No proof forth coming again, sorry!
Have a good day, relax and have fun!

  5. Hi, BOYS....what a dull / mundane site we have here.
Canon fire on the flanks, complete with verbal landmines !
I love this, really do. I always knew GP had fire in it's belly. Great humor also. Yes, it
was there, but you had to read between the words.

Someone called Jeff a racist, a while back ? I may be a racist, but who cares. What I
am is....is a Long Beach Polar Bear. This year we go in the Atlantic on Feb 1st. I'm most
proud of that. Eight straight years of diving under the waves. Being nuts helps.

I'm also very proud to be linked with you mugs. Always have. Proving to be a feisty group here.
Now Jeff is starting to use salty language. Lets try to hold together. OK ?

I'm back from my days of toiling at work. And ready to pick up the slack.

Congratulations to Daniel, and his wonderful work at this site.
Stephen Drew ?...Brendon Ryan, odd man out ? His Honor, Brian Cashman....the man !

Good to be back. This site is getting swagger. Great to see.
    Talk later.

  6. About time you showed up. You still jumping into the river!? Yes, you are nuts, it is below 60 degrees, and that is my limit, lower than 60, I am a hermit!
You haven't missed very much, just a few trades of some contention!

  7. KENNETH......Yes, I am nuts. Took you long enough to recognize it.
No...ground soldier, I am not jumping in a river. Jesus.
' Deep Water Sailors ' of which I am one, call it the Atlantic Ocean. It would be good for you also.

Is Elvis from Vegas, now living in your house ?

I have read every word here over the past few days. Up to speed on all MLB. Thanks.
Coming home so late, I would have been posting to myself.

I'm putting the wheels back on track.........
Kenneth......STOP APOLOGIZING, to posters every other day. No need for that.

Just trying to turn over a new "Tank"! One of the commenters is angry with me a bit. I put in my two cents when I should have known Jeff and Ken H could handle it themselves!
They are two good fans, as are we all, are around here, I just didn't want it to get out of hand! We have been down that road before...I over reacted. Besides, "no one pays me no never mind". As they say down in Southwest, Texas!
