Game Thread: New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays 5/24

The New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays are set to face off for the first time in a big three game set between the two clubs. You want to know the best part about the whole ordeal and this series? The Yankees miss David Price entirely as long as the probable pitchers do not change, that alone is a win for New York. Who will be making the start tonight for Toronto though will be a tough knuckleball pitcher in RA Dickey while the Yankees send Nathan Eovaldi to the mound to oppose him. The game will be played at 7:05 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium and can be seen on the YES Network and MLB TV.

To see any of these games live this week head on over and click the Yankees Tickets link at the top of the blog. That link will redirect you to our friends over at Ticket Monster who offer the same Yankees Tickets those “premium” box holders have for a fraction of the price. A fraction of the price that does not include any fees or shipping costs! Also be sure to head on over to Twitter to give us a follow and follow along during each and every game this season. Our Twitter handle is @GreedyStripes. Hope to see you there.

Nathan Eovaldi is ready to continue “eovolving” so I’m going to get off here and go watch. Go Yankees!

  1. I just read a quote from years ago by many pitchers;
    "There are good curveball hitters, but nobody hits a good curveball!
    Thus, the old saw; "major leaguers can all hit a fastball, now they have to learn to hit a breaking ball! Good luck!

    1. He has been pitching better. I have to give props when he deserves them. I like others on here will admit when I'm wrong or the player is improving. Still not sold he is the ace of this staff or will ever be. Still throws way to many pitches but has been getting better at the pitch count. Didi is still showing me he is a .225 to .250 hitter and dumb like there is no tomorrow. Any of you guys disagree with that comment you too need your head examined.

    2. That is one thing I'll never say about you Hans, that you don't admit if and when you are wrong. I like to think I am the same way. Others might not agree.... but screw them. I kid. A little.

  3. Not bad at all. His innings and strikeouts are up, walks and hits are down. Hans and I might have to break out the cookbook and find some creative recipes for crow!

    1. No disrespect Jeff but, I sure hope both of you need to do it. Also, let's hope we see this for the next few years and they resign him to a contract before he gets too expensive for Hal!

    2. Levin I replied above. If he keeps this up I guess we will. He has improved I will say that

    3. Both of you are stand-up guys!
      I have not made a final decision on Didi as of yet. I have said he is a good SS as of now...what comes will come!

  4. Work is the missing action around this team. Some of these kids (with very good talent) should see how hard guys like A-Rod and McCann work to improve their play even though they could still be good without the hard work...but, not as good as they are and have been. I should add Beltran to the hard worker list.

    1. Beltran has carried this team offensively for the better part of a season now and has not gotten nearly the recognition he deserves. Especially considering the fact that he's playing the outfield almost daily and pushing 40-years old as well (by the time the contract is up anyway)

    2. Daniel....
      I didn't read what I wrote;
      "I should add Beltran to the hard worker list.
      Should have been;
      "I should add Beltran to the hard worker list with A-Rod, McCann".
      I think it has to do with the younger players more than the vets. The Vets know they need to work harder as they age, they have been there and done that...the younger guys think they are going to have that quick strong bat and fast feet forever.
