Game Preview: New York Yankees vs. Tampa Bay Rays 9/11

The finale of this big four-game set goes down today between the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays in the Bronx. The Yankees have been a forced to be reckoned with lately and especially in this series as the Rays and even Mother Nature tried and failed to stop New York more times than not this series. New York is on a roll and they look for complete domination this afternoon in the finale of the series. In the finale the Yankees will send Luis Cessa to the mound to square off against Matt Andriese for the Rays. Should be another good one in the Bronx.

Cessa will be making the fifth start of his MLB career this afternoon in the Bronx and he is looking to keep his unbeaten record clean in the start. As a starter Cessa is 2-0 this season with a 3.09 ERA in four starts despite giving up far too many home runs.

Andriese has lasted just nine innings in his last two starts while allowing 14 runs in that same time period, yes please. Andriese has allowed 10 home runs in his last seven starts which is not a great sign as he enters a home run friendly ballpark in the Bronx. Well it's not a good sign for Tampa Bay anyway.

The game will be played at 1:05 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium and can be seen on the YES Network and MLB TV. On days like today, even in the midst of a pennant race, the games become less important and the meaning of the actual day takes center stage. Well it should anyway. Need a win. Get a win. More importantly though, never forget. Go Yankees!
