Yankees Sign Two International Free Agents

The New York Yankees stacked $3.5 million in international free agent money in hopes of signing Japanese-born Shohei Otani this winter and while that did not come to fruition it does not mean that the Yankees haven't used that money to add some great, young talent to the organization. This week the team announced that they have signed two international free agents with that money and their names are Raimfer Salinas, an outfielder from Venezuela, and Antonio Cabello, a catcher also from Venezuela. Per Baseball America these were the 11th best and 15th best prospects available in this year's international pool.

With these two signing the Yankees have signed five of the top 20 best prospects in this year's international signing period. No word on how much they signed for yet, we will update you when that information becomes available.
