Justin Thomas Elects Free Agency

The Yankees designated left handed reliever Justin Thomas for assignment and after clearing waivers Just Thomas has elected to test the free agent market rather then go to the Yankees AAA team. Cannot say that this is a huge loss for us as we only used him a few times in September ourselves after he was designated for assignment by Boston.

Justin Thomas Outrighted To AAA

Just Thomas, who the Yankees originally claimed off waivers from the Boston Red Sox, was designated for assignment a week ago to make room for Brett Gardner and David Aardsma. Justin has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to AAA Scranton. We'll see if he can add anything to that team, and maybe the big league club, next season. 

Yankees Announce First Round Of September Call Ups

Welcome to September who will hopefully be good to the Yankees, unlike August. With September comes expanded rosters and September call ups. The Yankees announced their first round of September callups late yesterday and they include Francisco Cervelli, Eduardo Nunez, Chris Dickerson (finally). Cory Wade, Adam Warren, and Justin Thomas. The Yankees will need to make a 40 ma roster move to include Dickerson on the roster and I expect that to have something to do with Dellin Betances. Call it a hunch but that is what I expect.
