2012 Minor League Awards

Mike over at River Avenue Blues released their version of the 2012 Minor League Awards this afternoon and it is definitely worth checking out. For the lazy I will go through a couple of them for you.

Minor League Player of the Year Award, in a shocker (not), went to Tyler Austin who hit and slugged his way from Low A Charleston all the way up to AA Trenton this season. Nik Turley took the pitcher of the year award for his work with the High A Tampa Yankees and the Trenton Thunder. Ronnier Mustelier was the minor league's hitter of the year, albeit at age 28, for the Empire State Yankees team. Most disappointing player went to Dante Bichette Jr for some reason that I will never understand. Yes he struggled, and struggles mightily I might add, but Manny Banuelos was considered major league ready LAST year and was the #1 prospect coming into this season. Injuries or not when he was on the mound, for the most part, he got bombed. Oh well these are not my rankings, enjoy!!
