This Day In Yankees History : 9/17/12

In 1997 the Yankees DH Dave Kingman becomes the first player in major league history to hit a home run for four different teams in one season including the Mets, Padres, Angels, and the Yankees.

In 2008 Yankees SS Derek Jeter became the all time hits leader at Yankees Stadium just a year before it was demolished in the 2009 off season. Naturally he passed Lou Gehrig to take over the lead with his 1,270th hit.
