Granderson Not Ready To Swing Yet

According to Dan Martin of the New York Post, there is still no timetable on when Curtis Granderson will start swinging a bat. Although that day could come anytime, Granderson has said that doctors have decided to hold off on swinging until after he's good with throwing.

This news makes it less likely that Curtis will be ready to re-join the team on May 1st, the day Joe Girardi at one point mentioned as a possible return date. You have to keep in mind that Grandy's injury happened in his one and only Spring Training at bat, so there's more work to do before returning than just getting healthy.

I'm perfectly okay with the team being cautious about bring Granderson back. He would surely make the lineup stronger, but the Yankees are 3rd in the American League in runs scored, and are currently 2nd in home runs. So it's not like they are really hurting, and need to rush things at all. And that's even without Mark Teixeira and Derek Jeter.

Oh, and Alex Rodriguez isn't around either, but that's something that doesn't bother me anyway.

"You just had to bust on me, didn't you?"
