This Day In Yankees History 4/25

On this day in 1933 the Yankees pitcher Russ Van Atta made his major league debut with the team. He did well going 4 for 4 at the dish and pitched a complete game shut out in a 16-0 win over the Washington Senators.

On this day in 1999 the Yankees 5th monument was revealed as a tribute to Joe DiMaggio who died in March at the age of 84. DiMaggio joined other Yankees to be enshrined like Miller Huggins in 1931, Lou Gehrig in 1942, Babe Ruth in 1949, and Mickey Mantle in 1996.
