This Day In Yankees History 5/1

On this day in 1920 Babe Ruth would hit his 50th career home run and his first career home run as a Yankees player. He would hit a few more in his Yankees career if memory serves me correctly.

On this day in 1951 Mickey Mantle would hit his first career home run in an 8-3 loss to the Chicago White Sox.

On this day in 1996 Yankees center fielder Bernie Williams would go 6-8 becoming only the second Yankees player to ever collect six hits in one game. The other Yankees player was Myril Hoag in 19134. The Yankees would beat the Baltimore Orioles on this day 11-6 in extra innings.
