This Day In Yankees History 6/16


On this day in 2007 the Yankees and the Mets played their first ever regular season game against each other in interleague play. The Subway Series would start with the Mets blanking the Yankees 6-0.


On this day in 2006 the Yankees played in the nations capital for the first time in 35 years as the Yankees beat the Washington Nationals at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C.


On this day in 2010 Phillies pitcher Jamie Moyer pitched in the new Yankees Stadium for the first time which was his 48th ball park that the 47 year old left hander had pitched in. This set a major league record passing Rudy Seanez's record for most appearances in different ball parks. The Phillies would beat the Yankees 6-3 on this day.
