Yankees Sign 2013 18th Round Draft Pick Dustin Fowler

The Yankees have announced that they have signed their 18th round pick from the 2013 MLB First Year Players draft Dustin Fowler to an over slot recommended deal. Fowler was signed for $278,000, and the slot recommendation for every round after the 10th round is $100,000 so this is a $178,000 draft pool hit. Fowler is a 18 year old left handed outfielder from West Laurens High School in Georgia and is considered to be a raw but toolsy prospect so he should be welcome in the Yankees system. Fowler recently quit wrestling and football which explains why he is so raw but he is a balls to the wall kind of guy and considered to be an above average defender in center field so I am excited to watch this kid grow with us.

  1. This kid is from my hometown. Trust me, you are getting a great ballplayer. He is a hard working kid and comes from a good family.

West Laurens is also where Denver Bronco WR DeMaryius Thomas is from.

Also, #5 LB in the nation, Johnny ONeal who just commited to Georgia.
