CC Throws Jab At Cano As He Walks Out The Door?

I have read this quote from CC Sabathia about Robinson Cano leaving for Seattle four or five times now and honestly I have come up with two or three different reactions. First I thought "wow CC just threw a jab at Cano" and then I thought he was just playing the politically correct card and saying what he needed to say. I'm not quite sure which one it is now so I leave this up to you to decide. What do you guys and girls think of this quote from our ace starting pitcher about Cano? Is it a jab? Let me know in the comments section!

Here is the quote:

"Just a player like that, putting on the pinstripes, and being able to play your whole career in New York means something – to me, obviously," Sabathia said. "It didn't mean that much to him. It's a difficult choice being a free agent. And he made a tough choice. I know he's happy with his decision, and his family's happy. So that's good."

  1. It sounded like he was headed down the road to slamming Cano with "It didn't mean that much to him"...and then reigned it in and put the politically correct brakes on with "It's a difficult choice being a free agent"...

  2. I think so too. I think he wanted to go full out slam but backed off last second. Damn political correctness.

  3. This one is easy !!
What Carsten Charles was saying, in his Cano remark, was.....that Cano will miss
spending time at JZ's 40-40 Club, with people who have done time. A quiet evening sipping a
bottle of $2000 bottle of champagne, with former Attica inmates, is priceless.

  4. Or, maybe..........speaking in the ebonics tongue, while in Seattle, will not get you the same results,
as in the 40-40 club ?...."but his family is happy. So that's good."
    I guess that's good.

  5. I'll not take this any further... Ebonics 101. I promise.

I am a Walsh. My Walsh blood, arrived in America, in 1842. They fought, and some died, in every
war....from the Civil War, to Vietnam. ...Many, highly decorated. They were good souls. Fine men
The seeds of the fallen, would have grown a better garden. Of this, I am sure.
They wanted a better world for America. And, they paid for it, dearly.
Their dream of America....has darkened, beyond their wildest dreams.

Ebonics, and the 40-40 Club mind set, go hand in hand.
    Ebonics... America...2013.
This is read/ played for..... children. Imagine.

As a general rule, I perform deviant sexual acts with women of all kinds, including but not limited to those with limited intellect, nude magazine models, and prostitutes. I particularly enjoy sexual encounters with the latter group as they are generally disappointed in the fact that they only receive penile intercourse and nothing more, unless of course, they douche on a consistent basis. Although I am extremely unattractive, I am able to engage in these types of sexual acts with some regularity. Perhaps my sexuality is somehow related to my fancy and expensive jewelry.

Robinson Cano, JZ...Shawn Carter ( drug pusher, who should be imprisoned ).....
The Irish blood of fine men, has long melted into the soil. All of them, better men than you two.
It will do them all well, in their eternal graves of darkness...if you two bastards move on.

  6. My take on CC comment;
"Just a player like that, putting on the pinstripes, and being able to play your whole career in New York means something – to me, obviously,"
Meaning: It is the greatest place to play and honor to be a Yankee with it's tradition.

"It didn't mean that much to him."
Meaning; Cano didn't care where he played baseball!

"It's a difficult choice being a free agent. And he made a tough choice."
Meaning; I did the same thing when I came here, I came for the money and the idea of being a Yankee and playing in and winning the WS year after year! Going for the money over the chance to do that is a tough choice!

"I know he's happy with his decision, and his family's happy. So that's good."
Meaning; He and the family wanted the money and got it from another team so...good-bye Yankees!

I don't see anything in his comment that is meant to be a slap at Cano at all! He just said what he felt not trying to make a big deal out of it. He knows, as do we all, the players work and plan for that FA time...it helps make up for all the years of being under-paid....for a very good player!
