We now know what injury Jacob Lindgren was hiding, how the Yankees plan to fix it and how long the young lefty will be out for. I have to say this is a bit disappointing but I'm glad it didn't turn into a Tommy John surgery or anything major like that. I can deal with a bone spur and a 12 week layoff. 12 weeks beats 12 months or more any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Yankees announce Jacob Lindgren having surgery to remove an elbow bone spur; rehab time expected to be no more than 12 weeks.

Also it was announced that Sergio Santos would require Tommy John surgery likely ending his Yankees tenure after just two appearances. Santos was said to be "heartbroken" by the news. Danny Burawa is up with the club to take his place on the roster. Bryan Mitchell, who pitched okay last night, has been optioned back down to Triple-A.
Small correction: Santos is having Tommy John and Burawa is here, but he replaces Mitchell, who has been optioned. #Yankees

In the final bit of roster news the Yankees announced that Mason Williams has been added to the 15 day DL with a jammed shoulder allowing the Yankees to call Ramon Flores back up to the major leagues. This is not expected to last longer than the 15 days but the Yankees may be overly cautious with the center fielder anyway.
